Collection: Northern Highbush

Northern highbush varieties generally require colder winters. This makes many of them particularly well suited to North Canterbury and other cooler parts of New Zealand.

Southern highbush varieties require fewer winter chill hours and are more commonly associated with the warmer northern regions. They may still grow in North Canterbury, but their early flowering can leave them vulnerable to spring frosts.
