Kingdom of Craparea

Craparea
The land of misfits, oddballs and endless possibilities
Who needs a bargain bin when you can have Craparea?
We like to think of our Craparea as the SPCA… but for plants. Perfectly good discount plants, looking for good homes.
Because CJ’s Plant Farm is attached to Elliotts Wholesale Nursery, we sometimes get access to plants that are overgrown, a bit wonky, end-of-line, surplus to requirements, or simply taking up space needed for the next crop. Some are a little rough around the edges. Some have absolutely nothing wrong with them at all.
Either way, they’re cheap, cheerful, and ready for someone with a bit of imagination.
Craparea is perfect for gardeners looking to fill a gap, bulk out a border, start a shelterbelt, plant on a budget, or take home something they didn’t know they needed until they saw it sitting there looking hopeful.
You’ll find all sorts in there — trees, shrubs, fruiting plants, natives, shelter plants, oddballs and occasional absolute gems. It’s not the most glamorous corner of the nursery, but the inhabitants are well worth a rummage.
How Craparea pricing works
Craparea plants are priced by coloured dot stickers. Sometimes the same variety may have different prices depending on the size, shape, quality or general “life choices” of the plant.
Our usual dot pricing is:
| Dot Colour | Price |
|---|---|
| Pink dot | $5 |
| Blue dot | $15 |
| Yellow / Green dot | $20 |
| Orange dot | $20 |
| White dot | $25 |
Yes, yellow and green are different colours. No, apparently not everyone can tell. We’re doing our best.
Larger plants and special items may be individually priced.
A few Craparea rules
There is no stock list for Craparea. It changes constantly, and the whole point is to come in, have a dig around, and see what treasures you can uncover.
Plants in Craparea are discounted based on their current condition and availability. Some may be overgrown, uneven, a bit battered, end-of-line, or simply surplus stock we need to move on.
All Craparea plants are sold as-is.
Craparea purchases are excluded from the CJ’s loyalty programme, so points are not earned on these items.
