Phormium Bronze Warrior
Phormium Bronze Warrior
NZ Flax
Phormium 'Bronze Warrior' is a striking New Zealand flax grown for its long, upright bronze to deep reddish-brown foliage. Strongly architectural and evergreen, it brings colour, height and structure to the garden all year round β including the middle of winter when quite a few other plants have clocked off.
Its sword-like leaves form a bold upright clump, making Bronze Warrior particularly effective as a feature plant, repeated through contemporary landscapes, mass planted on banks or used to add contrast amongst green foliage.
Like you'd expect from a flax, it's also remarkably practical. Once established, it's tolerant of frost, wind, coastal exposure and periods of dry weather, making it a very useful option for Canterbury gardens and larger landscape projects where plants need to look good without requiring constant attention.
