Planting & Care Tips

How to care for your Bergenia Snowtime:Water regularly while plants establish.

Once established, Bergenia Snowtime is relatively drought tolerant but performs best with occasional watering during prolonged dry periods.

Maintain moderate soil moisture for the healthiest foliage.

For healthy growth and flowering:

Apply compost annually in spring.
Use a balanced slow-release fertiliser if required.
Mulch around plants to help retain moisture.

After flowering:

Remove spent flower stems at the base.
Maintain a tidy appearance.
Direct energy back into foliage growth.

Very little pruning is required.

Simply:

Remove old or damaged leaves as needed.
Trim away weathered foliage in late winter.
Allow fresh new leaves to develop naturally.

Bergenias benefit from division every 4–5 years.

Division helps:

Rejuvenate older clumps
Improve vigour
Increase plant numbers

The best time to divide is spring or autumn.

Bergenia Snowtime is exceptionally frost hardy and performs well throughout New Zealand.

Winter care is minimal:

Leave foliage intact.
Remove damaged leaves if required.
Enjoy the attractive winter foliage colours.
